December 26th – TC#13 Boxing Day Tournament Summary – VLounge
Well, WHAT A DAY!!
The 2024 Annual Boxing Day Tourney was a total blast, with sooooo many people showing up to make it a huge success! A big shoutout to the Island pool community—you guys absolutely rock!
First and foremost, a massive THANK YOU to Mike Hays for starting this tournament and giving us all a reason to come together before the year wraps up. Mike’s idea of a fun, welcoming event—with door prizes and good vibes—has turned into something truly special. And, of course, he showed up again this year with that big heart of his, handing out prizes to all the players. We couldn’t be more grateful for you, Mike!
Next up, a huge thanks to Brad Service, Stanislava, and Vicki at Vlounge! These legends went way above and beyond for us. Instead of closing at their usual 7 PM, they opened early at 10 AM and stayed all the way until 9 PM—just so we could hang out, play pool, and have an awesome time. Oh, and let’s not forget Brad, who even treated everyone to pizza! You guys are incredible, and we appreciate you so much!
And then there’s Shaundra Radford, the MVP of the day! She ran four tournaments all by herself, the old-school way with pen and paper, and even gave up her spot to keep things running smoothly. Shaundra, you absolutely crushed it—we can’t thank you enough for everything you did!
Finally, a huge THANK YOU to all the players who came out—from Victoria to Port Alberni—to spend the day with us, share some laughs, and maybe even win a little cash along the way. You’re the reason this community is so amazing.
We also want to take a moment to say we missed those who couldn’t make it this year—whether you’ve moved away or had other commitments, you were in our thoughts. We hope to see you back at the tables soon, because it’s just not the same without you!
